The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Project Coordinator - Environment and Indigenous Community Engagement to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of projects by providing comprehensive administrative support, managing essential resources, and facilitating effective communication.   

Location and Work Arrangement 

  • Location: This full-time position is based out of our Kingsclear, NB office.
  • Hybrid In-Office Requirement: The Project Coordinator will be required to work from the office a minimum of 3 days a week. (Please Note: Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to accommodate the needs of the team.)

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers in supporting the successful completion of multi-disciplinary project work across the company (e.g. the preparation, monitoring, and execution of project plans, reports, proposals, and contracts reviews)
  • Manage small projects (e.g. managing budgets and project timelines, and ensuring completion of deliverables)
  • Collaborate with team members including engineers, planners, GIS specialists, and environmental scientists
  • Plan, lead, and participate in public, regulatory, and Indigenous consultation and engagement activities and events (e.g. community meetings and Elders gatherings)
  • Participate in client meetings, and liaise with various departments within our client groups in support of project and business development and client relationship management
  • Travel to client locations and/or other SOAR offices for the purpose of executing your responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills ((e.g. presentations, proposal writing, funding application writing, and report writing)
  • Ability to work well independently and with others

Experience

  • Experience managing budgets is an asset
  • Knowledge of respectful practices when working with Indigenous Peoples is an asset
  • Knowledge or experience with Indigenous Knowledge Braiding systems is an asset
