Our Logo

The SOAR logo was designed to be a compelling visual representation of the concepts that are foundational to SOAR, as well as to convey what makes SOAR unique in our industry.

Pin Wheel

There are two components or halves of the pinions on a pinwheel.

The first half of the pinion represents Our People. The second represents Your Vision. Each of the seven pinions that make up the pinwheel generate forward progress and represent a desire to shape the future with a deep understanding, appreciation and respect for the past.

With this, the SOAR logo came to life.

Our People

We will be the preferred employer for Indigenous Peoples seeking rewarding careers that positively impact communities.

Your Vision

We will disrupt the status quo by developing resilient solutions built on a foundation of shared learning that captures community perspectives.

Our Future

We will develop through shared learning while building capacity both for our clients and our own organization to better address future challenges and opportunities.

Two Eyed Seeing

What is Two-Eyed Seeing?

Two-Eyed Seeing is a concept developed by Mi’kmaw Elder Albert Marshall in 2004 which seeks to reconcile the use of Western method and theory with Indigenous knowledge. In the words of Marshall, Two-Eyed Seeing is “learning to see from one eye with the strengths of Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing, and from the other eye with the strengths of mainstream knowledge and Western ways of knowing, and learning to use both of these eyes together in order to produce more fulsome and sustainable solutions for the benefit of all.”

Mission Statement

We listen first; and cultivate knowledge to create resilient solutions for generations to come.

Our Vision

To establish an Indigenous led, staffed and owned organization made up of professionals leading and implementing change in their communities.
